Belle Isle Bridge Blues

Some days are more about walking the dogs than writing the blog...Sunday's walk led us through Gabriel Richard Park, on the city side of the bridge. Detroit really does have the same winter light as Paris, although there are rarely chunks of ice in the Seine.

Gabriel Richard Park is the easternmost point of the Riverwalk, which will eventually stretch all the way from the Belle Isle Bridge to the Ambassador Bridge. There are butterfly gardens....

...and a pavilion with refreshments in the warmer months. It provides a great vantage point for the hydroplane boat races, or the Red Bull Air Races.

The smart dog is meditating her way through the brick-paved labyrinth, contemplating a squirrel, perhaps.
