Noel Night Shopping In Detroit
It was a crisp, cold evening for Midtown Detroit's annual Noel Night. I got an early start, before the crowds descended. By the time I headed home at 7:30, the streets were full of people (and traffic jams!) I got to tour several wonderful buildings that aren't usually open to the public, and got some wonderful, non-mall gifts for friends and family.
Storefronts were beautifully lit and decorated. It was my first visit to City Bird's new shop and Re:View Contemporary. Of course after shopping and sightseeing, I had to take the dogs for a walk around the neighborhood to see the lights and the people. They love a crowd.
I ended my shop local adventure by escaping the frenzy at Pure Detroit in the Fisher Building, where a welcoming guy full of enthusiasm and great suggestions helped me select presents... and the knit shop was having an anniversary celebration, everything was half off.
I snapped a few shots of mosaics in the lobby of the Fisher... I can never resist a mosaic. I'll do more of the mosaic pictures another day.
